• How can the student ‘going for gold’ sliders be used?
Because all students are progressing from the same starting point on the slider then this visual display prevents any embarrassment by students. All students are challenged to make 4 levels of progress over their ks3&4 learning experience and their progress over time and since the previous data collection point is displayed visually. In the trial schools this has been particularly well received by boys as the competition appeals to their nature.
• How have Senior Leaders and Governors benefitted from this toolkit?
The sophisticated analysis provided by the Toolkit allows the differing needs of both parties to be satisfied. The broad brush requirements of Governors and the detail for Senior staff are both within the capabilities of the programme.
