Question: What operating systems are supported by Active Dashboards?

Answer: Active Dashboards has been thoroughly tested for deployment on Windows XP and above, as well as Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008 and above.

Question: What databases can the dashboards connect to?

Answer:  Active Dashboards can be connected to a range of datasources including SQL, XML, Access and Excel. The dashboards can also access a wide range of  web services.

Question: Can I use Active Directory to control what dashboards and items a user can see?

Answer:  Yes. Starting in Version 4.1 there are now three ‘Access modes’ within Active Dashboards, ‘Levels’, ‘Groups’ and ‘Active Directory Groups’.

If ‘Active Directory Groups’ is selected then Active Dashboards will read the current Active Directory to obtain a list of all available groups and then allow specified access to dashboards, items and drill-downs for selected groups.

Question: How are the dashboards created?

Answer: 4C Software create the dashboard items to your exact specifications. These include all filtering and drill-down functionality. Because the dashboards are linked directly to your MIS system (e.g. SIMS®), any changes to the underlying data is automatically reflected in the dashboards.

Question: If we want a complete overhaul of the dashboards in a couple of years time, is this possible?

Answer: If you continue to pay for the annual support contract and licence, then 4C Software will make any amendments to the dashboards you require.
